In addition to the standard range of Solidor composite doors, we can also provide a bespoke service which allows us to manufacture bespoke composite doors, which use the Solidor slab but can be made to fit any door surround, regardless of shape or size.
Are all composite doors the same?
When it comes to thermal efficiency, not all composite doors are equal. Check that your composite door has a foam-filled core and better still, a uPVC edge band. Foam is an excellent insulator and a uPVC edge band will increase performance even further.
How do you measure a composite door?
You are measuring the overall width and height of the door including the door, the frame and cill.
- Width: Measure in 3 points; top, middle and bottom and take the smallest measurement and deduct 10mm.
- Height: Measure again in 3 points; left, centre and right and take the smallest measurement and deduct 10mm.
Is there a minimum height for a composite door?
Minimum heights are dependant on two things; the type of threshold you have selected and whether or not you require an external sill. The full details can be found on our Min & Max Sizes document, but in theory the smallest door we can possibly make is 1980mm.
What is the largest composite door?
The largest size available on the height would be 2159mm, which would mean ordering a full uPVC threshold with an external sill (note a sill is not always required, but if ordered this increases the overall height by 30mm).
